Moving in Ramona

Where in Ramona do you move people?

All of Ramona, from Main Street and San Diego Country Estates to the ranches off Highland Valley Road and the vineyards of the Ramona Valley. Our base is about 26 miles away, roughly 40 minutes without traffic, and crews work 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. ZIP codes: 92065.

Ramona isn’t a city. It’s unincorporated county land spread over about 38 square miles, with 558 people per square mile in 2020 against 783 for the county as a whole. Seven in ten homes are owner-occupied and households are large, so a Ramona move is usually a whole house with outbuildings, not an apartment.

Local rules

What are the parking, container and HOA rules in Ramona?

Ramona is unincorporated San Diego County, so City of San Diego permits don’t apply and there’s no city hall. Anything placed in a county road needs a County of San Diego encroachment permit. Most Ramona lots have room for a container off the road, and HOAs like San Diego Country Estates set their own rules.

Dirt and gravel drivesWe check slope, turning room, gate width and overhead branches at the estimate. If a full-size truck can’t get close, the carry and the crew size go into your Not-to-Exceed price.
HOAsSan Diego Country Estates and gated areas set their own move hours and gate access. Send us the rules when you book.
Long container rentalsThe road permit doesn’t cover a container on your own lot. For a long rental, check zoning with County Planning & Development Services first.

Drive time, explained

How is drive time billed on a Ramona move?

Your written Not-to-Exceed price lists the drive between your two addresses with every other charge before move day. Main Street to San Diego Country Estates is about 12 minutes. Ramona to Poway is about 22 minutes.

Ramona is one of our longer runs: about 26 miles and 40 minutes from Sorrento Valley without traffic, with Highway 67 the usual way in. Your written estimate lists drive time, fuel and labor before move day.

On a ranch the bigger cost is usually the carry and the outbuildings, not the road. List barns, sheds and workshops at the estimate so the crew and truck fit the property.
