The drive

Which way does the moving truck go to Utah?

I-15, nearly all the way. It starts in San Diego and runs north through the Cajon Pass, Barstow and Las Vegas, through the Virgin River Gorge in Arizona’s northwest corner, then past St. George, Cedar City and Provo to Salt Lake City. Delivery is 2–3 days on a dedicated truck.

The truck carries only your household and goes straight to your door, with no warehouse stop and no transfer to another truck.

Seasons

When is the best time to move to Utah?

Late spring to early fall for northern Utah: winter storms can slow I-15 between St. George and Salt Lake City, so a winter move needs slack around delivery day. Southern Utah is the opposite: St. George and Zion are hot in summer, so take the first loading slot and carry heat-sensitive things in your car.

Winter, northSnow and ice can slow I-15. Keep the first day in the new home flexible and the driveway clear.
Summer, southThe route crosses the Mojave Desert and Las Vegas. Medicines, electronics, candles and records ride in your car.
BookingLong-distance trucks are booked by date, and a deposit holds yours.

After you arrive

What do I need to do after moving to Utah?

Transfer your driver license at a Utah Driver License Division office: bring proof of identity, Social Security number and Utah address, surrender your old license, and pass an eye test and a 25-question open-book test. Register your car with the Utah DMV and set up utilities before the truck arrives.
