Should I move?

Is it worth moving from California to Nevada?

For many households the numbers favor Nevada: no personal income tax, and lower prices than San Diego. BEA puts 2024 price levels at 100.2 for the Las Vegas metro and 101.0 for Reno against 111.9 for San Diego (U.S. = 100). The trade-off: median household incomes are lower too.

California still taxes income from California sources after you move, such as pay for work done in California (FTB).
