Who sets the street and container rules in central San Diego?
Inside the City of San Diego, a container in the street or on the sidewalk needs a Traffic Control Permit (Information Bulletin 718): up to 7 days, $87.68 a week plus $87.68 processing. Coronado is a separate city that wants containers on private property first. Downtown buildings add their own dock and elevator rules.

How much drive time does a move inside central San Diego add?
Your written Not-to-Exceed price lists the drive between your two addresses with every other charge before move day. Central San Diego hops are short: Downtown to North Park is about 7 minutes. Mission Valley to Clairemont is about 13 minutes.
Our crews start in Sorrento Valley at 6260 Marindustry Dr. The drive to your first address is part of the arrival window, and the hourly rate is the same anywhere in San Diego County.
In the center of the city, parking and elevators usually cost more time than the drive. A booked dock and a reserved elevator keep the crew from waiting, and waiting is billed time.

How much do movers cost in Central San Diego?
The same as anywhere in San Diego County: $139 an hour for two movers and a truck, up to $339 for six, every day of the week. Billing runs in 15-minute increments. Every local move gets a written Not-to-Exceed price before move day.

What does a long-distance move from Central San Diego cost?
Long-distance moves have one price per city on a dedicated truck: Las Vegas $4,000, Phoenix $4,200, Salt Lake City $6,500 and Dallas $10,600. Any other city: call (858) 633-8600 for today’s price. A shared truck costs $11 per cubic foot, 400 cubic feet minimum.

Transit: Phoenix, Mesa and Prescott 1–2 days; Las Vegas, Henderson and Carson City 1–2; St. George and Salt Lake City 2–3; Austin, Dallas and Houston 3–4. Los Angeles is billed by the hour and the Bay Area is $4,800–$5,200. Shared truck: delivery within 21 days.
Dates don’t line up?
Can I store my things during a Central San Diego move?
Yes. A One Stop container on your property is $99 a month (Standard, 8×8×5 ft) or $175 (Large, 8×8×7 ft), with 25 free boxes. Delivery, pickup and storage at our facility are quoted separately, in writing. Storage units in San Diego County start at $245 a month.
Storage rates
Containers are steel and weather-sealed, not climate-controlled, rented month to month. Vault storage is kept at 68–72°F.
Your rights
What protects me on a California move?
California movers are licensed by the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS), which took over on July 1, 2018. A mover may give a written estimate only after a visual inspection. Basic protection pays 60¢ per pound per article.

Can you move me out of a Downtown high-rise?
Yes. You book the dock and elevator with the building; we send the certificate of insurance and pad the elevator. Stairs, if needed, cost $0.
How much does a 1-bedroom apartment move in central San Diego cost?
Usually 2 to 3 movers for 4 to 5 hours, $556 to $945 in labor, plus drive time between the addresses.
Is Coronado part of the City of San Diego?
No. Coronado is its own city. A container goes on private property if there’s room, and a street permit lasts up to 7 days.
Do you serve North Park, Hillcrest and Serra Mesa?
Yes, every central neighborhood, 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. They don’t have their own pages yet; the rates and rules on this page apply.
How far ahead should I book a central San Diego move?
About 3 weeks from May through September and about 10 days the rest of the year. High-rise moves also depend on the building’s dock calendar.
Do you move Solana Beach homes?
Yes. Solana Beach is its own city in North County Coastal, and moves there run at the same $139 an hour for two movers and a truck as anywhere in San Diego County.
