What it costs
How much does it cost to ship a storage container out of state from San Diego?
Two parts. The rent while the container is with you is $99 a month for a Standard or $175 for a Large, month to month. The shipping is quoted in writing for your destination before you book, and it includes delivery at your new address. Loading help from our own crew is quoted the same way.
Because every destination is different, we do not publish one shipping price. Give the office your San Diego address, your new address and the size you want, and the written quote shows the shipping next to the monthly rent.
Every container comes with 25 free moving boxes and rents month to month, with no early-return penalty.
What goes on the quote

| Bay Area (San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco) | About 2–4 business days |

Transit times are typical windows, not guarantees. Weather and road closures can add days.
Your options
Is a container the right way to move long distance from San Diego?
A container fits when you want to pack at your own pace, or need your things held before the new place is ready. A dedicated truck is faster to Phoenix or Las Vegas, and our crew does the lifting. A Standard container holds 320 cubic feet, less than the 400 cubic foot minimum on a shared load.
| Option | Who loads | Price | Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portable container (One Stop) | You, or our crew (quoted) | $99 or $175 a month plus shipping, quoted in writing | About 2–4 business days to AZ or NV; 5–10 coast to coast |
| Dedicated truck (One Stop) | Our crew loads and unloads | Phoenix $4,200, Las Vegas $4,000 | 1–2 days |
| Shared load (One Stop) | Our crew | $11 per cu ft, 400 cu ft minimum ($4,400) | Up to 21 days |
| Rental truck | You | Rental, fuel and your own time | You drive it |
Dedicated-truck and shared-load prices are from One Stop’s published tariff. Other destinations: long-distance prices by city.

How does a long-distance container move work?
Five steps, and you only lift what you want to lift.

Give us both addresses and the size. The written quote shows the rent and the shipping before you book.
2
We deliver in San Diego
Same- or next-day delivery for most San Diego County ZIPs. The container sits at ground level, no ramp.
3
You load it
Take the days you need, or book our crew to pack and load. Lock it with your own padlock.
4
We ship it
We collect the loaded container and ship it to your new city.
5
Unload at the new home
Delivery at the new address is in the shipping quote. Ask for the unloading window and the final pickup in writing.
Before you ship
What should I know before shipping a container out of state?
Four things. The container is steel and weather resistant but not climate-controlled. Your own homeowner’s or renter’s insurance covers the contents, so ask your insurer about belongings in transit. You supply the padlock. And a container in the street at your new address usually needs a city permit, so plan on a driveway.
