With your household

Can a golf cart come along on my household move?

Yes. Add the golf cart to your move and it goes on the same booking, the same clock and the same invoice, at $139 an hour for two movers and a truck. Tell us about it when you ask for the quote, so the crew size and truck space on your written estimate account for it.

Moving a cart on a long-distance move? Long-distance moves go on a dedicated truck at one price per city, for example $4,200 to Phoenix. Mention the cart when you ask for the quote.

Golf cart storage

Can you store a golf cart in San Diego?

Yes. One Stop stores golf carts, along with cars and small boats. Vehicle storage is quoted in writing by the space the cart takes and how long you need it. A crew can take the cart into storage and bring it back at the hourly rate, from $139 an hour for two movers and a truck.

This is handy when a new home’s garage isn’t ready, during a remodel, or between selling one home and buying the next. Short-term storage during a move is included.

Gated communities

Do gated communities need anything from the mover?

Often a name on the gate list, a set move window, and sometimes a certificate of insurance. One Stop carries $1M general liability and $1M workers’ comp and sends the COI a community asks for. Ask both HOAs for their rules at least a week before moving day and send them with your booking.

Before moving day

How should I get a golf cart ready to move?

Five things: tell us the make and whether it runs, clear the path from where it’s parked to the street, take off loose items such as coolers, bag holders and seat covers, have the key ready, and get the new HOA’s gate and parking rules at least 7 days before moving day. The crew handles the rest.

  • Make, model, and gas or electric
  • Runs, or needs to be pushed
  • Path to the street cleared
  • Loose accessories removed and packed
  • Key on hand for the crew
  • New HOA gate and parking rules sent to us

Coverage

What is a golf cart covered for during a move?

Basic protection in California pays 60 cents per pound per article, at no charge. A 1,000-lb golf cart is covered for up to $600, which is likely less than the cart is worth. Check whether your golf cart or homeowner’s policy covers it in transit, and buy separate coverage before moving day if not.
