In short

One Stop Moving & Storage handles specialized moves across San Diego County and long distance: pianos, safes, antiques and fine furniture, artwork and mirrors, lab and medical equipment, golf carts, estates and military households. Each item gets the equipment it needs (piano boards, skids, safe dollies, floor runners, corner and banister guards, custom crates) and a route plan for stairs, elevators and tight doorways. Local grand piano moves typically cost $400 to $800; safes, art, equipment and golf carts are quoted flat before move day. Basic $0.60-per-pound valuation is included and Full Value Protection is recommended for high-value pieces.

Specialty
services

Six kinds of move that need their own crews, gear and planning. Each has a dedicated page.

How we protect
specialty items

The equipment and habits that make the difference between a careful move and a claim.

Floor, corner and banister guards

Runners on floors, guards on corners and railings, pads on elevator walls before anything moves.

Blanket wrap and shrink wrap

Quilted blankets against every finish, shrink wrap to hold them, corner protectors on fine furniture and framed pieces.

Boards, skids and specialty dollies

Piano boards, stair-climbing safe dollies, four-wheel dollies and ramps rated for the weight of the item.

Custom crating

Built-to-fit crates for marble tops, oversized glass, sculptures and instruments that cannot travel in a carton.

Team carries and route planning

Crew size set by weight and stairs, the route walked before the lift, tight turns and doorways measured in advance.

Tie-downs and placement

Strapped and braced in the truck, then placed exactly where you want it, reassembled and checked before we leave.

Golf cart
moving

From La Costa, Rancho Bernardo and Coronado communities to cross-state relocations, carts move the same careful way as everything else.

Community and HOA moves

Gated access, HOA rules and parking permits handled ahead of time; carts moved between homes inside the same community or across the county.

Local and long distance

Covered trucks with ramps and strapping systems keep the cart secure on a local run or a multi-day route to Arizona, Nevada or Utah.

Utility and mobility carts too

Utility carts, mobility scooters and small electric vehicles use the same ramps and tie-down points.

Storage

Golf carts are accepted at our San Diego vehicle storage facility alongside cars, motorcycles, boats and RVs, month to month.

How a specialty move works

01

Tell us the item

Type, dimensions, approximate weight and photos, plus stairs, elevators and doorways at both ends.

02

We plan access

Crew size, equipment and crating decided in advance, elevator and COI arranged if a building is involved, and a flat quote in writing.

03

Move day

Protection goes down first, the item is wrapped, boarded or crated, and moved by a crew sized for the carry.

04

Placement

Set exactly where you want it, reassembled if needed, checked with you before we leave.

How specialty moves
are priced

Quoted flat before move day from the item, the access and the distance, never by surprise on the day.

What counts as a specialized move?

Anything that needs more than a standard crew and dolly: pianos, safes, antiques, fine art, marble and glass, lab and medical equipment, golf carts, hot tubs, exercise machines and estates. Each is planned around the item’s weight, value and access before move day.

How much does it cost to move a piano or a safe?

Local grand piano moves typically run $400 to $800 and uprights less, quoted flat. Safes, artwork and exercise equipment are quoted individually by weight, size and stairs. Golf carts are quoted flat by distance.

Do you move lab and medical equipment?

Yes. Lab benches, instruments, freezers, imaging and medical equipment are moved by crews with the right dollies, padding and protocols, coordinated with your facility and vendors. See the lab moving page for details.

Can you move a golf cart?

Yes. Golf carts, utility carts and mobility scooters move locally and long distance in covered trucks with ramps and strapping systems, including gated communities and HOA rules. We can store them too.

Are specialty items covered if something happens?

Every move includes California’s $0.60-per-pound valuation. For high-value pianos, art, antiques or equipment we recommend Full Value Protection or a third-party policy, arranged with your quote.
