What it costs
How much do student movers cost in San Diego?
Two movers and a truck cost $139 an hour, and three cost $189. A dorm move with two movers costs $139 an hour. After 4 hours, billing runs in 15-minute steps.
The rate is the same on weekdays and weekends, including move-in and move-out weekends. There are no stair fees, and 50 boxes come free with every move.
Every local move gets a written Not-to-Exceed price before moving day, so the bill can’t run past it.

The honest part
Is a 4-hour minimum worth it for a dorm room?
Only if you fill the time. A single dorm room may take less than 4 hours, but you pay for 4 either way: $556 with two movers. Make the hours count by sharing the booking with a roommate, adding packing, or taking a second load into storage on the same trip.
If all you have is a few boxes and a mini-fridge, list everything when you ask for a quote.
Moving two rooms on the same day? One booking with stops at both rooms runs on one clock, and you can split the bill.

Summer storage
Where can students store things over the summer?
A Standard portable container is $99 a month, holds a 1–2 bedroom apartment and comes with 25 free boxes. Delivery and pickup are quoted in writing for your address, and a student discount is available on request. A storage unit at our facility starts at $245 a month for a 5×10.
Containers need about 30 feet of clearance for the delivery truck and level ground. Private property usually needs no permit; a container on the street may need a city permit, and a campus or HOA has its own rules, so check with housing or the property manager first.
Containers are steel and weather-resistant, but not climate-controlled. Contents are covered by your own renter’s or your family’s homeowner’s insurance, so check with the insurer.

Apartment moving guideWhen to book
When should I book a move-in or move-out move?
As soon as your school posts its move-in or move-out dates, because every student in your hall moves in the same window. A deposit holds your date. Crews work 7 days a week, 7 AM to 7 PM, at the same rate every day, weekends included.
Move-in and move-out dates and time slots are set by each school’s housing office. Check yours before you book, and send us the slot you’re given.
Ask housing before you book
Apartments and going home
Do you move off-campus apartments and out-of-state students?
Yes. Off-campus apartment moves use the same rate card: a studio usually takes two movers about 4 hours ($556), and a one-bedroom takes 4 to 5 hours ($556–$945). Going home out of state? A portable container can ship to the 48 continental states, quoted in writing.
Container shipping usually takes about 2–4 business days to Arizona, Nevada or the Bay Area and about 5–10 business days coast to coast. Delivery at the new address is included in the shipping quote.
Moving a whole apartment out of state instead? Long-distance moves go on a dedicated truck at one price per city, for example Phoenix $4,200 and Las Vegas $4,000.
