Your next home is outside San Diego County. A 1-Box never leaves the county, so for a move to another county or state we are the wrong company. Ask PODS about a long-distance container move, and confirm your route through its quote form.
You want one container for a three or four bedroom home. PODS' size guide describes its 16 ft container, 16' x 8' x 8', as a "popular choice for moving a 3 to 4 bedroom home". Our largest box is the Large, 7×8×8 ft, sized for a one to two bedroom home. If you want everything in a single box, PODS has the bigger one.
Your home has no driveway. PODS' San Diego page describes a City Service for homes without one, in which its team stays with your things while you load and unload. A 1-Box needs a spot on your property, and your city's rules decide the rest.
You want the price before anyone calls you. Neither PODS page we checked on 16 September 2026 showed a dollar figure; both led to a quote estimator. Our rates are printed above, and the calculator on our portable storage containers page adds delivery and shows your first-month total.
You want the company that delivers the box to fill it. PODS says it can connect you with pros for loading. Our movers are One Stop Moving & Storage employees, working under CAL-190616 and USDOT 1956864 since 2008, and they load or pack for $139/hr with two movers, $189/hr with three or $239/hr with four, with a 3-hour minimum. If something goes wrong, there is one company to call, not two.
You want to know where your container is kept. PODS' San Diego page refers to a secure Storage Center near San Diego without giving an address. Ours has a published address: 6260 Marindustry Dr STE B in Sorrento Valley, San Diego 92121. Storing a container there costs one $150 round trip plus its monthly rate.
You would rather have an all-steel box. PODS describes its containers as a steel frame with aluminum skin panels and a steel roll-up door. A 1-Box is steel from floor to roof, with steel doors you close with your own padlock.

Questions
For a move or storage job inside San Diego County, 1-Box is a local alternative with published prices: $99 a month for a Standard, $175 for a Large and $150 once for delivery and pickup. Our own crew can load it. For a move out of the county, look to PODS or another long-distance option.
Not on the pages we checked. On 16 September 2026, the PODS San Diego location page and its container sizes page showed no dollar prices, only a Get a quote container estimator. The location page says your first 30 days are included in the price, and after that you rent monthly if needed.
PODS' 12 and 16 ft containers are bigger than either 1-Box. Its 8 ft container is listed at 8' x 7' x 8', the same three numbers as our Large at 7×8×8 ft, though PODS does not say whether they are interior or exterior measurements. Our Standard holds 320 cubic feet and the Large 448; PODS lists no cubic feet.
