One Stop Moving & Storage · Carlsbad
A steel container for Carlsbad homes, set on your driveway because the city does not allow storage pods in the street. Measure the spot, book the size that fits, and load it at your own pace. These containers are rented, delivered and loaded by One Stop Moving & Storage, a licensed San Diego mover since 2008 at 6260 Marindustry Dr STE B, San Diego, CA 92121. Call (858) 633-8600.

The City of Carlsbad says dumpsters and storage pods are not allowed in the paved street or on sidewalks, so every Carlsbad container goes on a driveway or other private property. We found no Carlsbad rule written for containers on a private driveway.
City sourceCarlsbad summers are almost rain-free but often overcast, with fog off the Pacific, so seal soft goods against moisture.
SourceIn Carlsbad the street is not an option. The city's Engineering Q&A asks whether dumpsters and storage pods are allowed in the street, and the answer is a plain no: they are not allowed in the paved street section or on sidewalks. Some cities let a container use the curb with a permit. Carlsbad's published answer does not offer that route, so every container here sits on a driveway or elsewhere on private property.
That makes the driveway the first thing to measure, not the last. The Standard container measures 5×8×8 ft and holds 320 cubic feet; the Large measures 7×8×8 ft and holds 448. Check that the surface is level, that you can still open the doors fully once it is in place, and that the delivery truck has roughly 12 feet of vertical clearance over the drive, so look up for eaves and branches. Send us the measurements when you reserve and we confirm the spot works before delivery day. The rule is the same in Carlsbad Village and Barrio as it is in La Costa or Aviara.
Remodels need one extra calculation. The Q&A answer covers dumpsters as well as pods, so if your contractor is bringing a dumpster, both have to fit on your property at the same time. Agree on who gets which part of the driveway before either one arrives. Once the space is settled, a container keeps furniture and boxed rooms a few steps from the door while the work goes on, and our renovation storage page covers how to pack a house around a project.
If the driveway will not take a container, skip the container at home. We can keep your belongings in our climate-controlled vaulted storage in Sorrento Valley instead, about 29 minutes away without traffic, priced by the space you use. Compare on-site and facility storage to see which suits the job.
The weather here is gentle on a container but not on fabric. Carlsbad's summers are almost rain-free, yet often overcast and cool, with fog off the Pacific. A container is weather sealed and ventilated, not climate controlled, so wrap mattresses and upholstered pieces in breathable covers, bag bedding and clothes in sealed bins, and load on a dry day. Anything that must stay dry, such as family papers or framed artwork, belongs in our climate-controlled vaulted storage.
When you finish, the container can stay put, go sealed to our facility, or go to a new address anywhere in San Diego County. A move is one $150 round trip, the same charge as delivery, and a container kept at our facility is $225 a month. Two of our movers load it for $139 an hour if you would rather not lift, with a 3-hour minimum.
Measure the length and width you have, look up for low branches or eaves, and leave room for the doors to open.
Reserve online or call (858) 633-8600 with your measurements. If a contractor's dumpster is coming too, tell us, and we confirm the spot before delivery day.
With 24 hours' notice we pick it up, then keep it sealed at our facility or drop it at your next address in San Diego County. A move is one $150 round trip, the same charge as delivery; stored with us, the container is $225 a month.

Questions
No. The City of Carlsbad's Engineering Q&A says dumpsters and storage pods are not allowed in the paved street section or on sidewalks. In Carlsbad a container has to sit on your driveway or elsewhere on private property, so measure that space before you choose a size and reserve.
In Carlsbad a Standard container costs $99 a month and a Large costs $175, the same prices we charge across San Diego County. Delivery and pickup are a single $150 charge per rental, and there is no deposit. If you want a crew, two movers cost $139 an hour.
Use our facility instead of a container at home. Carlsbad does not allow storage pods in the street or on sidewalks, so a home without driveway room may have nowhere to put one. We can keep your belongings in our climate-controlled vaulted storage at our Sorrento Valley facility, priced by the space you use.
